Not all shelters will open at the same time. Shelters operate on an “as-needed” basis, and schedules are subject to change. For the most current information on shelter openings, please check the Marengo County E-911 / EMA Facebook page.

⚠️ Important: Do not travel to a shelter without first confirming that it is open.

Shelters provide no amenities—they are only a safe place to stay during the storm. Residents should bring all necessary supplies with them, including:

Please note: not all shelters allow pets, and shelter pet policies may change at any time.

For shelters that do accept pets, the following rules apply:

Pets must be leashed or carried at all times.

Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, both inside and outside the shelter.

Owners must bring any necessary items their pets will need, including food, water, bedding, and any medications.
